SCK Web Works Ltd awarded 3rd place at South Lakeland Business 2 Business Entrapreneur of the year 2008 Awards.
On the 13th November 2008 South Lakeland hosted its first ever Business 2 Business Exhibition which attracted over 250 businesses to the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal. This was the first major business networking event for Businesses in South Lakeland.
An estimated close to 30 companies applied for the award of Business 2 Business Entrapreneur of the year 2008.
The judges were impressed that the two partners of SCK, having spotted a market opportunity, had left paid employment to set up in business and in 17 months had achieved close to 100 website clients, grown sufficiently to move from home working into business premises, were looking to take on staff and at the same time had adopted a recycling ethos and supported local charities and threfore awarded SCK 3rd place.
- First prize of £1000, (sponsored by Invest in Cumbria), went to Maria Whitehead of Hawkshead Relish
- Second prize of £500, (sponsored by HSBC), went to Joanne Wilson of Grasmere Gingerbread
- Third prize of £250 (sponsored by Talbot Insurance Brokers), went to Graham Sowerby of SCK Web Works
