Design
Question: What does every web site need? Answer: Design.
Design is another level of functionality, but it is the primary level of functionality. Design if done correctly will make a web site inevitably useable, the users experience will then become an easy and enjoyable one, which in turn makes the user come back and use the site time and time again.
We design to take into account simplicity, usability not to mention beauty. If you have or do not have a brand, we can come to create you a beautiful site which will take in to account your needs as a client and will provide your customers a sense of what your business is about instantly before even reading any of the content.
Compliance
We use the latest web languages XHTML and CSS to provide you with a design that can degrade gracefully for the partially sighted or disabled, which will increase your customer audience. All of our XHTML is validated to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
Validation of XHTML has several benefits (excerpt taken from A List Apart):
- A proven increase in a site's accessibility,
- The promise of device independence,
- The presence of a metric against which an individual or a team's production can be measured, and
- The knowledge that your site is future-proof, displaying in any standards-compliant browser yet to be invented.
Accessibility
There are several online sources relating to web accessibility, some of which can be found here:
- Cabinet Office / HTML - Building in universal accessibility + checklist
- BBC / Access keys - Access keys let you navigate around bbc.co.uk without using your mouse.
- Accessible 101 - Accessible web site design is basically 'good web site design'
A quote from our clients ...
James Thurlow, Event Director at Open Adventure.
I'm one of those frustrated people who has ideas yet lacks the creative skill to convert the ideas to design. Time and again after meeting James to discuss forthcoming changes to the web site or an advert he has exceeded my expectations taking an idea 2 or 3 steps on. This is not over weeks or months its over days even hours - the speed in which he works and turns ideas in to reality is mind blowing, a reality that neither lacks quality or professionalism. The design says more than this paragraph.
